Check the name at the dock
Several operators board from one dock area inside Bayside, and more than one traveller found the booth hard to spot. Look for your operator's name on your ticket, and arrive early enough to ask.
Budget for the night itself
The captain fee on the private boat, the cash tip on Aqua Party Boat's sunset and karaoke cruises and the gate balance at the ATV park all come on top of the fare. Travellers who knew in advance wrote about the view; those who did not wrote about the fee.
Pick the hour by the month
A 7pm start gave one family both the sunset and the lights in August; in December the same hour is well after dark. Sunset moves almost three hours through the year, so check it for your date.
Sit up top, and hold on to your hat
The upper decks fill first on the cruises, and the open top of the bus is windy, with branches to duck. Arrive early for a seat, and tie your hair back.
